3300 "Tübeli" -- 3300 Brioches!!!

An einem nebligen Novembermorgen morgens um vier Uhr ist in der Küche des Pflegeheims Frienisberg schon etliches im Gang: Bäcker und etliche Frauen haben sich eingefunden, um aus Zopf-Teig sage und schreibe 3300 Tübeli zu formen & zu backen! Danach steht schon ein ganzes Heer von Freiwiligen bereit, um in den umliegenden Dörfern und Weilern von Tür zu Tür zu gehen und das Backgut zu verkaufen. Der Erlös kommt dem Teen Bi-Kindergarten und Gemeinschaftszentrum in Dakar, Senegal zugute - und es ist tatsächlich so, dass das "Tübeligeld" die Löhne der einheimischen Mitarbeiter, die Schulmaterialien und Spielsachen, die Putzmittel, Elektrizität und eigentlich so ziemlich alle Ausgaben abdeckt, die übers Jahr anfallen. Ein riesengrosses, herzliches Dankeschön allen freiwilligen Helfern der Kirchgemeinde Seedorf!

It's only 4 o'clock in the morning on a foggy November morning, but things are already busy in the kitchen of the old folk's home "Frienisberg": The baker and several women are in the process of preparing and baking an incredible 3300 brioche-like "Tübeli"! Then, many other volunteers stand ready to take the still warm goods to go door to door in the surrounding villages in order to sell them. The proceeds will go to "Teen Bi", the kindergarden and children's community center in Dakar, Senegal - it is a fact that the "brioche money" covers more or less all the costs of the project: the salaries of the local workers, the materials for education & play, the cleaning supplies, the electricity, and a lot more.
